Home Security Systems in Charlotte NC

September 27, 2013 By Diamond Electronics

Looking to have a home security system installed in your home? If you want a truly safe home security system, Diamond Electronics recommends investing in a wireless system.

Wired systems can not only be complicated, they are also vulnerable. Wired systems require a land-line or internet connection. These connections can be easily interrupted if you lose your phone line. These lines can also be cut with a simple pair of wire cutters. If the connection with the phone line or internet communicator is lost, your wired system will then lose communication with the central monitoring station. This will result in your home and personal property not being protected.

A wireless system uses a cell unit which is connected over a secure cellular network to communicate with our monitoring center. Having a wireless system, means no wires for burglars, the phone company (or anyone else) to cut. Wireless systems are the safest choice when selecting a security system for your home and your personal belongings.

Diamond Electronics was founded in 1996 and takes pride in our customers and the services that we provide. Contact Diamond Electronics today for more information on these systems and let us assist you in making the best choice for your needs.

Security Systems in Charlotte, NC

September 17, 2013 By Diamond Electronics

Diamond Electronics is committed to delivering excellent customer service and the best security system available to you. At Diamond Electronics, we know the ultimate convenience and peace of mind is knowing that your home or business is protected even if you are some place else.

We at Diamond, highly recommend investing in a system that relies on a cell unit versus a telephone (land-line) or the internet. A cell unit sends safe, uninterrupted alarm signals and all other communications to the monitoring center. There are many benefits to having a system that utilizes a cell unit. One of the most important being that you do not have to worry about your land-line phone line being cut or your internet being down which would interrupt and prevent the system from communicating with the monitoring center.

With our Total Connect service, you have control of your security 24/7.  You can arm and disarm your system from anywhere.  Your options are virtually endless with what you can do at your fingertips with your system from your computer, tablet or mobile device.

Contact Diamond Electronics today to discuss your security options with our team. We are located in Locust, NC and service Charlotte, NC and the surrounding areas.

Security Camera Systems in Charlotte NC

September 4, 2013 By Diamond Electronics

There are many different options when it comes to selecting the right security camera for your home or business.  In addition to selecting the correct security camera(s), you may need additional equipment such as a DVR (Digital Video Recorder) to complete your surveillance system.

The DVR is the hub of your surveillance system, which processes and records all of the individual feeds from your cameras. Traditional CCTV systems will use a standalone DVR, which connects to your cameras via coaxial cable.

Newer IP-based network video cameras do not output a standard video signal. They are intelligent network devices that output a stream of computer data instead. In order to record this data, you will need a computer with special software running, called a “network video recorder” or NVR.

The following are the different types of cameras available:

* Network security cameras represent the next generation of CCTV. Instead of outputting a composite NTSC video signal, these cameras output a digital video data stream that must be interpreted by software. Network cameras allow the video to be transmitted over arbitrary distances and avoid most of the cabling issues of traditional CCTV cameras, but are more expensive and more complicated to install.

*Bullet cameras have taken over box cameras to become the staple CCTV camera. They make a convenient and robust choice as most of them are weather resistant, offer day/night operation, and come with a built-in lens. These all-inclusive cameras are inexpensive and easy to install, making them a great choice for any application.

*Dome cameras are typically chosen for aesthetic reasons, as they tend to look more attractive and less obtrusive in an office than their bulkier counterparts. Domes also prevent a hoodlum from being able to rotate or knock the lens out of view. Smoked and mirrored domes offer the additional benefit of occluding the view of the lens.

*Box cameras are the typical camera that most people think of when you talk about CCTV. Although they have become less common than their more modern counterparts, they still offer the maximum array of features and options. Box cameras allow you to choose your own lens, housing, mount, and other features; essentially allowing you to design your own camera.

*Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) cameras allow the user to manually control the camera’s movement and to zoom in on an object. They are typically used in a retail environment to allow a security officer to follow a customer. In order to control the camera, you will need a DVR and/or joystick controller.

Contact Diamond Electronics today to discuss the options available to you to create a security & video surveillance system to fit your needs.  We are located in Locust NC and service Charlotte NC and surrounding areas.
